Happy new year

Have booked the above for our Easter break for me and the children.  This is what a caravan looks like LJ!  It looks so sweet.  Its near a place called Great Yarmouth, about 3 hours drive from here.

We had a lovely Christmas but it was over too quickly.  One sadness is that I didn't hear from my brother.  I left a message on his answerphone on Christmas day but nothing.  It hurts more that I know he visited one of our nieces this week.  He hasn't contacted my sister, Chris, either.  She is of a firmer nature than I am and says to just leave it now.  I have his presents here ... I suppose if he doesn't come by the end of January or doesn't contact me in any way, I shall just have to eat his biscuits!  So sad, when there are only 3 of us left.

Apart from that sadness, we are now looking to this New Year and hoping for good things.  The children go back to school this week, Rosie goes on Monday and Matthew on Wednesday.  I think they have had long enough off now and need to get back into a worthwhile routine of school and homework, ha ha!

Martin cooked the dinner on Christmas day, so I was thoroughly spoilt really.  I didn't have to do a thing except eat it and very nice it was too.  We got some lovely presents and I now have an ipod, so I can get my revenge on all those who have tormented me for the last year or so with their loud music.  Yey, I can play them at their own game.

Settled in here for a nice quietweekend, have just made potato salad and chicken and everyone feels at peace!  Lots of jobs to do tomorrow but today is a restful day for me.

Some terrible news at work this week.  A former workmate collapsed and died last Sunday aged 36 with a brain anurysm.  He left behind two little children under 6 years old.  So tragic and I feel so sorry for his little family.

Why do I always end on a sad note?

Wishing you all a happy weekend.

Hugs, Tells x

Hey Tells glad you had a good Christmas and NewYear, sorry to hear about your brother but your sister is right just leave it for now and see what happens.
Must be good to get back to the usual routine, I know what you mean about those and loud music on the train I always used to ask them to turn it down...lol

The caravan you've booked is far grander than any my family will have, but we do go camping in what I call luxurious style as their campers have heat and air conditioning, microwaves and refrigerators etc.  I'm looking with my daughter now for campers...when we find one for them or for me...I'll  put pictures in my journal for sure.  Life is such a mixture of joys and sorrows that we cannot help but include them in our journals that is for sure.  Thankfully there seem to be more joys than the other so we continue to have hope and celebrate each day.

Just back from holidays myself so your caravan pictures had me very interested! Looks like a beautiful place to relax and eat Easter Eggs. Glad you got to relax a little over Christmas too.  I have to say too, that picture of your sister in your last entry...oh my God!!!  Isn't Rosie just the spitting image of her?  Just beautiful!

Now, how many sleeps left til Easter holidays...???...lol

Hi,

Just catching up on the last couple of months. That caravan looks really good. As for the family tales, gosh, you should write a book!!

So sad about that poor chap dying, how dreadful for his family.

Hope this is a good New Year for you.

Looks like a lovely place to take a break  I hope it comes to pass!  I know what it is like for family members not to show up for Xmas.  I never know whether my oldest son Gary will show, but this year he did and we were all delighted  What is more he came with gift cards to Fry's grocery store for all of us.  It seems that the male can suspend Christmas easier than we women can!  I don't ever reproach my son as I feel he has lost out more than anyone, because the rest of us go ahead and have a good time!  Too bad about that young father dying so young.  Makes you wonder why such things happen!  Gerry

That sure looks like a great cottage to have your holiday in!  We are hoping to go up to Cumbria again this summer.  Fingers crossed!  Sorry to hear about your brother.  Hope that situation sorts itself out soon.  Also sad to hear about your co-worker.  How very tragic.  I wish you a very good 2008 chock full of blessings and happness.
